Moscow (February 2012) The 6th edition of the “World Content Show”, an international festival of pay TV channels, took place in Moscow as an integral and key element of CSTB 2012 – itself the largest international exhibition for TV and telecommunications in Russia. On this occasion the organisers were delighted to welcome as General Sponsor the Paramount Comedy channel and Gulli as a sponsor.
Every year the World Content Show offers its participants a unique opportunity to display to a wide and critical audience new programs and present new channels to their target audience. This year Mikhail Borzenkov was the show’s moderator who as editor-in-chief of the Stereo & Video magazine and anchor of the “Movie Magic” on the “Kultura” channel brought not only his knowledge of the media but also his well known personality.
Andrey Gromkovsky who heads the Russian version of the Paramount Comedy channel was the first to present his channel’s content to visitors of the World Content Show included were comedy series, movies and cartoons. Mr Gromkovsky believes that the Russian pay TV market is one of the fastest growing markets and that the Russian audience presents an active and demanding consumer of high quality entertaining content. Paramount Comedy is planning to creatively adapt foreign content for the Russian viewers, localize its brand and the content’s design, and to soon start producing content in Russia. The channel is to be launched on pay TV networks in April 2012 and according to Andrey Gromkovsky is going to become one of the leaders in the Russian pay TV market through advertising and PR by paying special attention to what the pay TV leaders are thinking and demanding.
The CSTB 2012 Exhibition and Forum: Representing a Year of Achievement in Digital Multichannel TV
(Moscow February 2012) Again the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre hosted the CSTB 2012 International Exhibition and Forum, the premier showcase for innovation, development and creativity in the multi-channel electronic media world. Moscow. Between the 7th and 9th of February three large halls of Pavilion No. 1 were the focus of attention by the leading experts who are driving forward the Digital Revolution in Russia.. For 14 years CSTB has been recognised and has become established as the leading business platform for key players in the market to display their TV and telecommunication innovations, engage in a dialogue with government representatives and launch projects. This year the exhibition was home to over 450 companies, providing a rich and dynamic mix of cable, satellite TV and IPTV operators… producers and distributors of hardware for digital TV systems, system integrators and manufactures of the essential consumer products that are enabling the transition to a “Digital World”. Themed and occupying over 18,000 sq. m. within the three halls the displays attracted 23,820 visitors, a significant growth over the previous year, that was in itself an indicator of the vibrancy of both the event and the industry.. The Organisers were proud to have “Tricolor TV” as the platinum sponsor of the exhibition for CSTB 2012.

The 14th International CSTB Exhibition and Forum Round Table Debates Burning Issues
The Pay-TV sector has seen, over the past year, many legislative initiatives and new regulations aimed at establishing clear rules governing the relationships between the players in the market and building simpler channels of communication that are easier to understand. These successes in the domain of legislation together with the most important issues relating to the introduction of digital TV in Russia were debated by senior government representatives and businesses leaders at the Round Table discussion held on the first day of the CSTB 2012 Exhibition and Forum.
– The 14th CSTB 2012 Exhibition and Forum, the premier event in multichannel TV and communications in Russia opened on February 7th with an inauguration ceremony addressed by Irina Nedumova, Director General of MIDEXPO – the organisers of the event, followed by Yuri Pripachkin, President of the Cable TV Association of Russia, and Alexender Gorbatko, Deputy Chief of the Municipality of Moscow’s IT Department.
In her opening remarks Irina Nedumova said: “I am delighted and honoured that this event enjoys the privileged status of Supported by” the Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, as well as other core ministries that include the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Chamber of Trade and Industry”. Nedumova went on to note that “The CSTB 2012 Exhibition and Forum represents one of the most important indicators and drivers of the Russian telecommunications industrial sector”. Adding, “For the past 14 years CSTB has been recognised as the essential business platform for the leading players in the market to introduce their digital innovations, engage in a dialogue with government representatives and launch new projects. This year the exhibition has over 450 participating companies, including cable and satellite TV operators, producers and distributors of equipment for digital TV systems, system integrators, and producers of consumer electronic products. Added to this the TV channels and content producers are actively demonstrating their imaginative and exciting plans and programmes for 2012 in one of the three halls that is dedicated to content”.
